Hello
My name is Nikki Solemsaas.
I'm a multidisciplinary creative based between Seattle, Washington and Denver, Colorado. After spending more than a decade as a Visual Designer and Art Director in big tech, I made the leap to pursue creativity full time. Today, my work spans murals, branding, websites, photography, and fine art.
For years, I thought I had to choose one creative path. The more I explored, the more I realized every discipline made me better at the next. Design shaped the way I paint. Photography influences my compositions. Murals changed how I think about storytelling.
No matter the medium, my goal is always the same:
to create beautiful things so people can feel beautiful things.

Beyond the Lines
I haven't always called myself a multidisciplinary creative.
Like a lot of artists, I spent years believing success meant finding one thing to be known for. I tried to fit neatly into a single category, but curiosity always pulled me somewhere else. I'd be designing a brand one day, painting a canvas piece the next, photographing a business launch over the weekend, and somehow each experience made the others stronger.
Eventually I stopped fighting it.
I realized my work isn't defined by a particular medium. It's defined by the way I think. Whether I'm creating a mural that transforms a public space, building a brand from scratch, designing a website, or painting for a gallery, I'm asking the same question: How can I create something that makes people stop, feel, and remember it?
That mindset has led me to work with businesses, cities, organizations, and fellow creatives on projects that range from public art to visual identity systems. Some projects are highly strategic, others are deeply personal, but they all begin the same way... with the belief that good design and good art can genuinely change how people experience a place, a brand, or a moment.
At the end of the day, I don't really separate art from design. To me, they're all different ways of solving creative problems. I simply love making things, and I hope the things I make leave the world a little more beautiful than I found it.
